Mason the southernmost cities of Burgundy displays a character smiling with the colorful facades of Saône docks. It is the starting point for a beautiful getaway of some 40 km to the roche de Solutré an emblematic site of Burgundy, then visit several beautiful castles Pierreclos, Lamartine and Berzé-le-Châtel.

The route ends at the Abbey of Cluny, which extended its influence throughout Europe in the middle ages. Its Abbey Church was the largest of all Christendom before the construction of St. Peter's in Rome.
