The stages
Town of Art and history, Dole has an amazing rich heritage, testimony preserved its history that begins in the middle ages. Dole formed a beautiful harmonious with its canals, its old houses and its collegiate church, Notre-Dame.
Dominated by the silhouette of the fort Belin, Salins is a charming spa town boasting a beautiful natural setting. The city has a glorious history due to a past flourishing industrial production of salt, called "white gold".
Wine capital of the Jura department, Arbois is known for it's beautiful architectural heritage. The town of Louis Pasteur is full of charm with its houses lining up the picturesque river Cuisance.
The castle of Arlay
In the heart of the Jura vineyards, the imposing Castle of Arlay was built in the 18th century on the remains of the ancient medieval fortress. It is home style furniture restoration and has a romantic park lined lanes of Linden trees.
Château-Chalon is a picturesque village which is labeled "Most beautiful Village of France". It dominates the top of its rocky outcrop the famous yellow wine vineyards.
The natural site of Baume-les-Messieurs is spectacular and grandiose. It was formed by the reunion of three valleys, including the beautiful remoted wilderness valley of the Cirque de Baume. The village slightly below, labeled «Plus Beaux Villages de France» ("the most beautiful village of France") is well preserved. One can admire its imperial Abbey of the XIe century.
The Lake of Chalain
Chalain Lake is the largest natural lake in the Jura and the 7th largest natural lake in France. Lakeside, the remains of villages with houses on stilts dating from 3000 BC are remarkably preserved.
Hérisson waterfalls
In the famous gorges, River multiplied falls and waterfalls such as the range, offering during humid (autumn) a grandiose spectacle.
Saint-Claude is a growing important from 1855 with Briar pipe: Saint-Claude pipes are deemed among the amateurs. The city retains a real dynamism in the handicraft of the pipe and tourism, by integrating the regional natural park of the Haut-Jura.
Crêt de Chalam
Culminating 1545 meters above sea level, the Chalam order takes the form of a sharp peak visible from many viewpoints in the Jura mountains. At its Summit there are stunning views of the massif.
