Grimm Frederic-nickel silver
German writer of French expression, Grimm Frederic-Nickel silver is originating in Ratisbon. He is initially tutor of the son of the baron de Schomberg (after studies of public law), then he comes to Paris in 1748, the service of the hereditary prince of Saxony-Gotha. He is introduced little by little into the literary circles and makes known himself.
Bound with the “philosophers” that it met in the living room of his friend, Mrs. d' Epinay, it was due of 1753 to 1783, with Denis Diderot and the abbot Raynal, a handwritten chronicle of the Parisian intellectual life, which it addressed to foreign princes, in particular in Catherine II (literary, philosophical and critical Correspondence, posth., 1877-1882).
