For Cicéron, religion would come from religion which means scruple. It would apply to those which scrupulously gather the things concerning the worship of the Gods.

But it is trying to think that the word religion comes from relegare (in Latin religare) which means to connect. To connect, for example the world visible with the invisible world where reside the mysterious powers of which it is necessary to secure the good graces.

The word religion has just connected, even if this word can also come from node of straw or scruple:

• To connect the men between them them inside the same group in their proposer of the laws and common values.
• To connect the present to the past by pointing out the traditions, the accounts of the beginnings, the important facts of the ancestors.
• To finally connect the man to what surrounds it while answering by tales, myths, accounts, poems with the eternal questions: From which does the world come? Why does the innocent one suffer you it?
